Born and bred in Mexico City, Chef Luis Lagos comes from a family of cooks where handwritten recipes have been passed on through generations. Although Chef Luis started as a furniture designer, his heart yearned towards being in the kitchen. He took this passion and moved to Oaxaca where he started a home restaurant. This brought him recognition and was invited to cook with Olivier Lombard, one of the best chefs at that time in Mexico City. He went on to manage the kitchen at Haramara Retreat in Sayulita and built a loyal group of followers. This support brought him to Marin County and today he operates out of The Midway in San Francisco. You can be sure to find delicious ingredients on the menu when Chef Luis is in the kitchen and be guaranteed your meal was made with thoughtful attention and love. Enjoy!
We really loved the Zucchini soup and the Caprese salad. The pasta was excellent as well. Great experience overall.
Chef Luis surprised me with the quality of his food! I was skeptical to order at first, however the meal was gourmet quality and for a good price! Portions were generous and the chicken fajitas were so tender and tasty! His summer pasta salad with filet was a hitter! His mango gelatin was to die for! I'm interested to see his next menus! The best part was getting 3 multiple course quality meals for $30 if you break it down! Totally worth it! Thank you Chef Luis!
